In the August of 1938, a new design was trialed by the Small Arms Committee called the Biwarip machine-carbine. It had a perforated barrel casing and a side-mounted magazine of 30 rounds. It was blow-back operated. The Committee found it to be far too light for accurate shooting and it was quickly rejected. No further improvements were added to the design.
