J. Chaineux was a Parisian gunmaker who made 12- and 20-shot pinfire revolvers. Most of them date from the late 1860's and early 1870's. The loading gates were on the right side, as were the ejector rods. Chaineux revolvers can be identified by the markings J. CHAINEUX INVR BVTÉ.
