Selrahc Model 7 assault rifle

Selrahc

The Selrahc Model 7 is a little-known Australian assault rifle that was designed by a Maltese emigrant, Charles Giorgio, in the early 1970s. Seemingly based on the ArmaLite AR-18, the Selrahc was a 5.56mm gas-operated rifle that reportedly weighed about 5lb and had an effective range of 650yds. It was fed from STANAG-pattern box magazines. The rifle was produced by the Inter Ordnance Corporation and was publicly unveiled in 1973 and received some press exposure, but largely went ignored by the military community. It seems that it never advanced past the prototype stage.
