Snowdon percussion revolver

english
A Snowdon percussion revolver, c.1855.
Collection of A. Hamon.

A six-shot open-frame revolver with a steel body. It was self-cocking and had a bar hammer with a slot for sighting. A spring stud came up automatically below the centre of the hammer to hold it at the half-cock setting. It had a Blisset rammer. The maker is unknown but the markings indicate the place of manufacture: SNOWDON, ALNWICK.
